Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the service life of repair clamps?
Under normal usage conditions, repair clamps can last between 15 to 20 years.
Can the clamp be reused?
Yes, the clamp is reusable.
If the leakage occurs at a weld seam, does it require special treatment?
In most cases, it can be installed directly over the weld. However, if the weld bead is too raised, it may need to be ground flat. If unsure, please consult our sales representative.
How do I choose the correct specification?
Measure the outer diameter of the pipe and refer to our clamp size chart to select the suitable model. If uncertain, feel free to contact our sales team directly.
What’s the difference between Standard and Extended repair pipe clamps? How do I choose?
When selecting a clamp for leak repair, ensure that the maximum horizontal width of the crack along the pipe (denoted as S in the diagram) does not exceed the “B” length specified in the product specification table. If the crack is too wide horizontally, please use the Extended Repair Clamp to prevent leakage from both ends.
When should I use a Standard repair clamp? What if the leak is at the joint between a straight and an elbow pipe?
Standard repair clamps are suitable for use on straight pipe sections or at joints between two straight pipes. For leaks at a joint between a straight and an elbow pipe, please use an Elbow repair pipe clamp.
Can the clamp be used when the pipe is close to a wall or another pipe? What is the clamp thickness?
Clamp thickness is calculated using the formula: (T – Outer Diameter of Pipe) / 2. For example, for a standard DN 100 pipe: (144mm – 114.3mm) / 2 = 15mm.
Can these clamps be used on all pipe materials?
They are not suitable for glass pipes or flexible hoses. For hygienic pipes used in food-grade applications, these clamps are not suitable if the internal fluid is food-related.
